Bey, aka Beyoncé, aka Queen Bee celebrated her B-day, or birthday, on September 4th. Some of Queen Bee’s closest family and friends all dedicated songs to her on her website “that narrate their most cherished moments with her.”
So who dedicated what?
Her husband, Jay Z, offered up Coldplay’s “Yellow,” saying, “This song reminds me of you and I on vacation. So many legendary nights. It represents vulnerability; it’s us in our own world, away from work and totally lost in love. ‘For you, I’ll bleed myself dry.'”
Her adorable daughter, Blue Ivy, dedicated “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid. She said, “Mommy you sung this to me all the time.”
Solange, her sister, gave a touching dedication with “Holy Ghost” by Kim Burrell, saying, “I think about one of the best moments in my life. My sister, humming this with me softly, being the calming beautiful spirit she is, making everything that resided in that moment filled with love.”
Destiny Child band mates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams contributed as well, reminiscing over old times growing up and touring.
“Bey” is pronounced like “bay”. “Bee” is pronounced with a long /E/. The /B/ sound can be tricky. To help, here is a recap of how to pronounce it from our friend http://englishexamswithnikki.org/.
