Is Baymax returning?
Speaking to MTV News for her new action flick Run All Night, Genesis Rodriguez, aka the voice of “Big Hero 6” super heroine Honey Lemon confirmed that there have been discussions of a highly anticipated sequel for Big Hero 6.
The film was a smash hit, both financially and critically, for Walt Disney Animation. Big Hero 6 grossed $521 million at the global box office and was also given the 2015 Best Animated Feature Oscar. No surprise that interest in a sequel continues to grow from fans and the film’s all-star cast.
The 27-year-old actress said she’d “love to see the gang come back together” for more crime-fighting. “It was just a very special movie with a very special cast,” she said. “It was so diverse and so fun to work with these people.”
And considering the movie’s success she added, “I doubt that they wouldn’t want to do another one.”
While Disney is keeping tight-lipped about its plans for the franchise, there seems to be a strong case for continuing the Big Hero 6 adventure. The ability to continue Big Hero 6 would seem much than creating a sequel to Frozen, especially considering that Big Hero 6 has a whole comic fan base and story to pull from.
So tell us, would the sequel be Big Hero 7? Guess we will just have to wait and see!
