It’s still cold and wintry in most of North America.  And we aren’t talking about this Wintour. It’s the time of year when most of us have a case of the blues. Do you have the winter blues? The blues are a feeling of sadness, depression and low energy about something. The winter blues are a feeling of sadness because it is so darn cold outside! Come on, spring! Until then, stay bundled up and drink lots of hot chocolate!

“The blues” is just one expression or idiom using the color word blue.
