American Idol’s final season premiered this week as the judges began the entertaining auditions to find the next singing superstar. There were plenty of Top 24 contenders in the mix. Not surprisingly the show kicked off with a typical flair that emphasized its own importance throughout American pop culture and the music industry over the last 14 years. Welcoming back alumni like Taylor Hicks, Kris Allen, Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard to help with the auditioning process, the latest season started with an emotional opening, featuring impressionable children and teens watching former Idols with and dream of being on the show themselves. So far the memorable auditions included Shelbie Z, Jordan Sasser, Joshua Wicker and Sonika Vaid.
