The Powerpuff Girls are coming back! For those who weren’t fans of the awesome cartoon on TV from 1998 to 2004, The Powerpuff Girls was a fun, high energy, animated show about three badass girls. They fought against villains like HIM and Mojo Jojo. The girls, Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup, aka the Powerpuff Girls, were not to be messed with. The mayor of their hometown, Townsville, (voiced by Tom Kenny, who is set to return) leaned on them in times of trouble. Why? Because they had superpowers, naturally.
This time, Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup look just about the same in the new version of the series, coming to Cartoon Network in 2016. But the voice cast is new.
“It has been wonderful to see this new show team bring such passion and positive creative spirit to this iconic property,” said Rob Sorcher, chief content officer at Cartoon Network. “We know that fans of every age will appreciate this new take on saving the world before bedtime.”
