Remember way back when, a new season of The Voice started and we wrote about a shy farm boy who might win?
Well, looks like our crystal ball worked. Sawyer Fredricks was crowned the winner of The Voice this week, and nobody was really shocked.
The shy, hat-wearing 15-year-old was a fan favorite all season. He was in the final four along with Team Blake Shelton’s Meghan Linsey, Team Adam Levine’s Joshua Davis and Koryn Hawthorne, who was from Team Pharrell. It was the first victory for his coach, Pharrell, who proudly congratulated his latest protégé when season 8 came to an end.
The winner is from Fultonville, NY, where he helps out on the family farm. Before The Voice, he recorded his own album and performed once a week at a local farmers’ market.
Not wasting any time, Fredericks already had a video for his single, “Please,” which he debuted during the show’s final and was penned by his idol, Ray LaMontagne.
