The Will & Grace reunion that rocked fans and the internet this week may be perceived by many as a pro-Hillary Clinton ad, but Debra Messing, Grace herself, is making it clear that voting was the message.

In an interview this week with The Washington Post, Messing addressed the viral reunion video that appeared mere hours before the first presidential debate Monday. The short episode also starred original cast members Eric McCormack, Sean Hayes, and Megan Mullally, who took turns trying to convince Hayes’ Jack — who thought the election was Dec. 1 — which presidential candidate was best. Karen was on the Donald Trump train, while Will and Grace were firmly behind Clinton.

Messing is open about her support for the Democratic nominee — “I’ve been a passionate Hillary Clinton supporter and advocate,” said Messing in the interview — speaking on Clinton’s behalf at the Democratic National Convention in July.

As for an official reunion of the hit sitcom, the stars expressed interest in the possibility. Messing hoped if the show did return it would be for a short season for Netflix or Amazon; McCormack described the feeling of shooting the quick reunion episode as “amazing to stand there and feel that again;” and Mullally thought it was the perfect time  to reunite.
